Thats not particulary effective in terms of points and useful mainly for fighting an army you already know will have daemons. Its simply to specialized.

i dont think there is actually much point adding something in thats just slightly different to another weapon. and we try to avoid things that favour strength against one particular army. the reason we want rules for these woteva hammers is because of the new space marine veterans box? we could just say just dont buy them, ther a rip-off anyway. frank i know...

alternatively we cen treat these thunder hammers as power mauls. i know that maul isn't exactly a hammer, but they're both blunt weapons and utilize disruptive field. s5 save -3 and knock out sounds quite powerful.
