From now on there will be no more promotions to Guild Officer position.
In the future, to apply for Guild Officer you will need to have attained at least the rank of legendary protector (thats protector of all 3 continents *note that is a comparative title and not an acutal ingame one, tho it should be really*), have been in the Guild for at least 3-6 months, and contributed at least 20 platinum to the Guild fund. These figures are reviewable and are lain out as a guideline.
At present myself and Simon are officers, with Charly as Guild leader as the most Senior player (also fitting with his on-line command role), however I am imposing a self limit to have achieved legendary protector by 1st November, and the same applies to Simon. Again this is for discussion.
Once a player has fit the criteria to be an officer and wishes to apply to be one, their application will be voted on by existing officers, with them requiring a majority of 2/3 of the vote to be promoted.
This will create officers who are very experienced at Guild Wars and thus proven capable of aiding people on all PvE environemnts, and have made a genuine contribution to the Guild.

Only officer scan invite new members or guests & kick members out.
Not a massive thing, but they are in a higher rank slot than others so they are the members guild people tend to look to for leadership and guidance

we'd all best get working on that legendary protector title then! its no mean feat, some of those masters/bonus' are a nightmare.

And I'm annoyed I'm the only piece of the OGC adminastrative structure who isn't a guild officer. Which is nice when the lofty ideals to aspire to haven't been reached by anyone 'above' me.

All current officers have been so for over 8 months having been appointed under the previous ruling, my appointment being based on having a 2nd-in command status in the Guild and Simon by me as he was a Senior at the time, and consequently still is. Both positions are under a period of review - please read above if either me or Simon are not at the criteria at the date specified we will be removed as officers.
Unfortunately there is no rank structure in the officer status therefore any promotions must be subjected to extreme scrutiny. As far as I am aware, the aim of the Guild is to build a strong Guild of players through quality over quantity.

So far, we're looking at our 7th member. IF Laharl doesn't decide to go elsewhere. So on another topic, when do we start recruiting?

This is a tough one. We should only be recruiting once we have sufficient Guild members who have completed most of the game and so will be able to advise and guide new members through pretty much anything. At present only Charly is at that level, I'm still 10 missions shy of mastering everything bar EotN. There are also a few Guild things we have yet to sort out, only Charly has done any of the Luxon or Kurzick things for example. I'd say at least another month, we also need some solid PvP experience as well, I've only had a small bit not sure about everyone else.
Players I have invited to Guild as full members or guests have typically been put off, by either being at the same stage of the game and therefore feeling they are in a superior position anyways, or by their experience in other Guilds which have full Guild Halls, lots of faction etc

slight re-think on this, i think legendary hero will be sufficient for officers, thats not a title that exists but it just means completing the main storyline missions, with or without bonus'/masters. this will ensure officers can help members on which ever mission they are on, but dont need to commit the amount of hours needed to achieve protector on each continent.
this will probably come as standard when youve done all the missions but i think explorer on each continent should be a requirement too.
so to recap, as of november 1st guild officers should achieve the following in order to maintain their current rank:
Hero of Tyria Hero of Cantha Hero of Elona Tyrian Explorer (60%) Canthan Explorer (60%) Elonian Explorer (60%)
any other achievements are optional but may put you ahead of the rest if your applying to be an officer in the future. something like 1 officer per 5 regular members should be about right.
