Whether your going in for the 40k, Fantasy or Magic Tournaments put a statement in this thread, this allows me to actually put quotes more than references into the Tournament in Motion write-ups and adds a lot more flavour, plus its great to look back on your state of mind at the time come a few years. Plus its a chance to aggrevate other people with a few sideways comments ;D

Magic Champion 2005, Luke Greensmith Warhammer Fantasy, I don't expect to do too well. I'm aiming for third place. I'll bust my gut that far but I'll be using a fundamentaly flawed army which I havn't had the money to fix. Warhammer 40,000, I'm going a slightly different route to normal. It will be the first Subterra Marine tournament game (as unpainted as they are). I'm going to try for top three play off, but my army is going to suffer almost never getting the charge when using a close combat angle. I think I'll pull off a suprise win against Tyranids considering the orientation of the list I'm picking, and I think I can hold my own against everyone except May and Mike. If I'm with May's seed and Simon I expect to do well. If I'm in the same group as Mike and Brown I doubt I'll make any impact.

As for 40k, I will be complacent with a final position, altough I will not be too begrudging of losing the title, it only makes it more fun when I need to win it back again (2006). However I would not be happy with anythign below third, in fact I'd be quite disappointed at third place. Still, I expect another Tournament and title number 5 (kopites magic number! ). I am not a great Fantasy fan and was thouroughly resigned to defeat, especially after losing the opener to Charly who finished last overall. However after a bit more effort I crushed the Brettonians in the 'miracle' game and had a good time up until the final. I'm returning wiht the Empire again and have a genral aim of a top three finish. MAgic! I was narrowly pipped last year thanks to Brown's cheap win! This year with Luke appearing its personal, I will finish above Luke, so that merely means I aim not to finish last ;D Seriously though, I think Im much deserving of the 1st place, especially after the annoyamnce of that 4 2nd places in a row run of 2003-4 seasons (Magic, 40k and Fantasy X2)

I wouldn't be too sure of victory over me Luke in 40K... My army has undergone a few mutations since the battle weekend and I'll have some new things to try out... I hope I get a game in against Brown coz I don't think that I've actually beaten him yet at 40K, and I'm pretty sure that I could do better this time. I'd prefer Mike's group to May's group, coz them Orks are a real pain to fight against... My main aim is the third place play off and plenty of fun... And maybe a surprise draw with one of the top players... As for fantasy, I'm gonna have my work cut out for me this year... Mike's Empire with 2 Hellblasters will pose problems for my Bretonnians, and Brown's Tomb Kings will be difficult to topple... And then there's the pain caused by actually playing Warhammer (I'm only in it coz I'm the champ )... Tim might prove a bit of a challenge as well, and the Lizardmen are going to be tough to get to... I suppose I could put up a decent fight in Magic, maybe getting onto the podium if I'm lucky, but there are better, more experienced players in that event that deserve it more than me...

Is it me or does everyone have a secret weapon for the tournament this year

Mine aren't secret, they could have been an edge if they where but I've already said what I'm up to.

I might not be fantasy's greatest fan, (in fact I generally hate it), I am still going to thoroughly enjoy annhilating Simon. In fact, to hell with 40k (I'll just wipe Simon out in that), I WILL HAVE revenge for the Magic Tournament. [glow=green,2,300]REVENNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGAAAAAAAA!!!!![/glow] The Fantasy Title will at last be mine, and Simons beard will be made into a toilet brush and left in a public loo (with his eyes, mouth and brain attacthed of course).

U've got to remember that I don't wanna win the fantasy tournament this year... And my money is on charly rather than anyone else... I'll put up some semblance of a fight in 40K, but I've got my gold now for the trophy cabinet... I can sit back and relax, knowing that I am now the only one with a chance of getting a triple title this year... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (strokes beard evilly)

On a serious note, if you dont want to win it, then dont enter it, it would make for a silly tournament if a champions stance was to undermine the very purpose of it. And charly doesnt stand a chance, ive crushed those skaven with both my armies

Ah, but you see, I'll still go for it in fantasy... It's the pressure I can't take more than anything... At least in the other tournaments I'm not expected to do well
