this looks absolute wank, it's now out and i very much doubt i'll get it, Devil May Cry didn't impress me (mainl;y because of camera of death) so god help this, anyone know where i can find an online plot synopsis as the plot is the only reason i can see to play this.
On a side note, Square stop fucking ass raping the ff7 license, yes the original was amazing, the film was actually worthwhile but please for fucks sake leave it at that. You could have spent the money you wasted on this making FFXII even better

I'll end up with it. You can play it while you work out the most satisfying way to terminate my existence for the snoring.

terminate is too mild.

just reviving this because of a certain twat, he wanted a DoC remake on the 360 (wtf!?), so i ripped it apart Two games I wouldn't mind seeing remade would be FF6 and Dirge of Cerberus on the 360. Unlikely I know but the idea of Hi-def next gen graphics being used to illustrate armageddon is more than a little mouth watering. that's wishful thinking isnt it? FF6 needs no remake and if you put DoC in a 360 it'd probably turn on the red light of death in protest. I suppose from a FF fan more accustomed to RPGs it's reasonably passable what? Surely an FF fan who likes RPGs would prefer this steaming shitefest to be an RPG also? Better yet not make this crap at all. It makes up a whole lot of crap just to get some more money from the FF7 license. none of it is even relevant. the cringable part at the end which isnt at all a blatant plagiarism of the part in Devil May Cry 1 where you fly towards the end boss is just pathetic. Seriously anyone fans of this need to take Vincent's dick out of their mouth and see it for the utter utter goatshite that it is. EDIT: Why is the quoting system so complicated on this board?

I bought Dirge, played for half a few hours and never went back, it sits on the shelf as a grim reminder of when games became big business and creativity made way for rationality. Waste of £8?
Can't help you with the quoting system I'm afraid.

I had fun playing DoC... until the final sequence voilated the anus of my soul. It burns through what little good ideas it has too quickly. There was a pretty good place for it to end to, and it could have lived on as a mediocre curiosity except it backflips over the shark at the end.

I finally decided to go through with completing this. (game time 10 hours - actual play about 1 1/2)
Plotwise it was interesting and fleshed out Vincent a bit, though it was kind of seeing what was already speculated. Some very nice animated parts but then we had Advent Children for that.
As a game its pretty dire, most of the time its fire 3 bullets then have a 5 mins cut scene, shoot 10 bullets have a one hour cut scene. I played the game whilst doing something else, to make up for the bordeom and managed to keep my ears perked for any interesting story bits. Though seriously its narrated so badly you only need to see every tenth line to know exactly what going on.
No more Square, unless you remake 7 exactly as it was (tho I guess it'd be the equivalent of FFVII-2 with al the horrible commercial pop culture coming through). If people bastardise something people love then its no good saying, you just dont have to watch/play/see it, if your a fan you'll go and see something, out of curiosity or a little bit of respect or trust for the developer, and if they ruin it it stains everything. Somebody get them to draw the line, eventually it may get through . .
(look how long it took them to release FF Tactics properly - about a decade of fan pressure!)

Square are desperately trying to get the "most overused license" award from nintendo.
even a remake of VII is totally unnecessary, but the removal of all backwards compatibility with PS3 has made it a little more likely
8 and 9 are the only pure games left in the series!!
