Just thought I'd put up a couple of clarifications on here that might be useful for people to know in the tournament.
Everyone knows that taking 25%+ casualties in a turn causes a panic test. Getting charged in the flank when already engaged in combat also causes a panic test.
The rest of the panic tests can be put into 2 categories:
1. Panic caused by Panic: this is basically when a unit fails a panic test and flees. If it goes near any unit when this happens, or a unit is near to the unit that fails the panic test, then they also have to take a Panic Test on one condition: That they have a unit strength that is equal to or less than the fleeing unit. In other words, that little skirmish screen that turns tail and flees in the shooting phase will not cause a Panic test on a big unit behind it.
2. Panic caused by breaking/destroying a unit. This is only in the instance where the unit fails a break test/ is destroyed nearby. In this situation, all units are affected, regardless of comparitive sizes etc. Basically, this is the situation where the little band of men that you are using to shield another unit get charged, lose the combat and flee. Units near that combat will take a panic test, regardless of their unit size.
Another important note is this: a Panicking unit does NOT drop its banner. This only occurs if the unit breaks from combat. I have queried it in store and everyone came up with that response.
