It can't possibly be worth that. For that kind of money I'd want it assembled and pro-painted thanks.

I guess its jsut a museum piece really. but can you not envisage that little rack of spikes coming towards you? its the icing on the cake in terms of tank-shock

Ive actually got one of these things now, accidentally bid too much and got one for £15 with postage :/ Looking at the thing it is still pretty big, and its interior is twice the size of the new land raider! + when its next to even a leman russ it actually looks quite monstrous and intimidating. So i like it, i prefer it to my other one tbh, and it fits in with Chaos a bit more having an ancient variant

oh god, this means you might be rolling out 2 land raiders now, and considering how long it took me to kill just one, even though I had 4 multimeltas in army! I think it actually survived 2 direct hits and one glancing before finally getting blown up on the 4th, never mind about 2 shots that missed.

I once poured 20+ laz cannon hits into a Land Raider and never stopped it. By the time the game ended the beast was weaponless but still roaming around ramming stuff.

An they are great against multi meltas as there are limited locations to get hit additionally.
when a multi melta hits a dread or a pred, your getting like 4-5 locations, almost certain death, but the landraider, plus the size of it means you only getting 1-3, if your lucky

with the different sizes from old to new does this throw up a problem? as the old one would be easier to hit and see than the newer smaller one for the same amount of points

The new ones are HUGE! Easier to see, harder to find cover for and manuever for but templates don't impact them as much.

As far as comparative size goes for new and old tanks, its the same for the rhino chasis, in our group there are a mix of new and old tanks.
I dont see too much of a problem, its not a huge difference, and if anyone is THAT bothered about the difference, they are always free to choose whichever size they think works best.

The Raider I put all those laz can rounds into was a new one. It's shear mass helped a bit but I'm sure it held up better under fire just because was HUGE. In terms of balance the impact isn't all that large for the over sized metal beats. We certainly have players who use both new and old model types.
