I want to use the model for the emperors champion as a converted librarian (the sword works nicely as a force sword.. a hefty one at that)
So ive got an empty left hand to play with.. I want to portray the fact he uses powers and so was thinking maybe of converting, or painting his crunched up fist to look like hes casting somthing.. perhaps iron arm, or have energy protruding from his knuckles.
just wondered if anyone has any cool ideas for this kinda project.
Oh also, anyone got any good tips for painting power weapons/ force weapons.. some of the profesional ones look damn good, wish i was that good

or an easy option that would work well would be to make a decent looking storm sheild, would go nicely with the large sword and knight'esk helmet
Just need a big fat empire sheild

This thread shows a Librarian sending out a psychic power. Warning! After viewing pictures shown on this thread, you may give up painting all together in despair. Widowmaker does an absolutely amazing job on his mini's. I think he used greenstuff for the salamander thing coming out of the fist. As for power weapons, You might like my Banshee Exarch executioner. I painted the weapon a light blue colour, dry-brushed a darker shade from the back edge, and two increasingly lighter shades from front edge. Finished it all off with a gloss finish. I've also seen some beautiful lightning "crackles" around power weapons. Base coat the blade in a dark colour, and then sketch in the lighting bolts in increasingly narrow and lighter shades of blue, ending with almost white in a very narrow line down the center of each "crackle" of lightning. If you're really feeling adventurous, you can go for lighting effects on the face and armor from the glowing blade. I recall finding a tutorial somewhere on the web, but I cant remember just where. Good luck!

I think thats pretty amazing, shame he never put any painted pics of it up. I really like the idea of the lightening effect, but think ive tried it before and it didnt come out that well.

Ive got a cool lizard mans head that could possibly work like that salamander thing, thou im not sure how id model between the head and his hand.
Also the model im using has his had stretched straight out with his fingers all pointing straight, not quite as easy to work with as a flat palm.
Im thinking I might try a slightly simpler version of the dood with skulls above
