I still like the simplicity of one auto wound. Beats the heck out of the current rule.

I suppose the effect of a mega chacter hurtling towards could ne nutured by another wave of lascannons aiming for his head. Though with shooting, the charcter would no longer be part of the squad if his bike is destroyed so what happens to the rest of the shooting + on the D6" the charcter could fall away from the 4" sustained fire spread rule, should the now on foot model still absorb the impact of further shooting?
Im still unconvinced that charcters in this way shouldnt be too easy to kill off. Seems that a Khorne champion would find a bike much better than a Juggerknaught if he can effectively hurl a 30" moving vehicle into a wall and then charge off in the next turn.
For mounted librarians ther epowers increase massively in effectivenss on a vehicles given that they will ahve a greater range of effect, think Salamander for example. Increased vulnerability may seem a fair trade off for increased effectiveness.

All shooting should be resolved at the same time anyway? Everything that rolls 1 or 2 to hit will hit the character, anything else on the bike.

Keep in mind that your Khorne Lord is going to be taking a S10 hit with a -4 to the armorsave for dismounting from the speeding bike. And I don't believe field saves apply to dismounting hits.

Just the idea of making a decent character die instantly on 4+ simply for penetrating armour value 10 seems a bit harsh, i expect it to hurt if you roll 4+, but not kill instantly.
