Based on the decisions at the AGM [sorry, i still owe the typing up of the notes], the Senior elections will be running for the next year (2 elections), with 2 senior positions available (i was outvoted for 3 ). These senior elections are important in terms of the supporting cast for runniong the Tournament, as well as coordianting various other upcoming events such as the annual paintball and OGCamp trip to Amsterdam. So if you want to be a Senior (and there is a point!) get pitching, people will be able to votes starting this Monday (29th) for their two candidates. If you have a vote you will be notified by email, the right to votes is based purely on attendance to OGC events, if you do not recieve an email by Monday, and feel you wish to vote then please contact me.

The main contenders will most likely be (in no particular order), the current seniors Luke Greensmith and Andrew Townley (charly on the board), and past senior Simon Gray (Leeds co-ordinator) and James Brown (Liverpool co-ordinator) View past elections at; ogc.org.uk/Pages/Articles/SeniorElectionResults.htm

aren't the some kind of restrictions on who can vote, like they must have attended a ogc tourney or something, or is that just Luke?

basically - either attended a tournament or attended enough different things to understand the club structure and who the faces are. It isnt just about members, as as to what an OGC member is is so loose its hard to define. I prefer to think of OGC as a core set of ideas that people dip into as much as they want

id like, and im sure others would, for the duties of the next seniors to be clearly outlined up here. at the moment i dont really know what seniors roles are, and i need to before i decide to pitch or not.

Senior definition -> Overall voice and driving force in recruitment, events and administration Essentially- Members can be as active and be as influential as they like, Seniors however must meet maximum potential of a member and as such are useful overall voices of less involved but just as concerned players Senior duties Start of term duties reviewed, then remain static for 6 months (term length average) [Added 14-5-05] Be active on OGChat site [Added 14-5-05] Senior contact once per week between all [Added 14-5-05] Compulsory attendance to called meetings (unless approved submission) [Added 14-5-05] Senior must play in at least two Tournament events [Added 14-5-05] Seniors must take part in 3 of the 6 OGC spheres [Added 14-5-05] Seniors must develop at least one event (bar Tournament) per term [Added 14-5-05] Failure to meet duties will remain automatic forfeit of next Senior election [Added 14-5-05]
thats copied and pasted from the main site.
Seniors make all the final decisions, only none of this seems to have happened in the last term and ive spent more time consulting with non-seniors over every decision. Just look at lukes post count drop on this site in the last 3-4 months, thats a good example. I'd be happy to simply appoint seniors based on merit, not votes but that'd defeat the purpose of voting in the first place
