This thread is intended to list all the rules changes of significant note in the ogc rulebook and to provide a reference for those times that rules modification are left out of the rulebook in full (by mistake or otherwise).
Vehicles fitted with Ablative/Space Armour now count as large targets (+1 to hit them), until the protecting armour is destroyed. This is to balance the bonuses of ablative armour and is justifiable by the vehicle being typically 10-20% larger with full spacing.
Although now irrelevant due to the publication of the lists, it will be highlighted that the new rules for a commander are now in force. There was some confusion as to this and some lists had to be ironed out. In addition to the standard OGC character restrictions also note the following guidelines;
Armies under 2,000 points may be led by any character.
Armies of 2,000 points or more must be led by a charter with 2 wounds minimum in their profile
Armies of 3,000 points or more must be led by a character of 3 wounds min
Armies of 4,000 points or more must be led by the most senior character within the list
Note, the points band is set by the agreed game value, not the final total of a players army list. For example for a 2,000 point game, a player whose armies comes to 1,997 points would still need to be led by a Chaplain Hero/Codicier or higher.
Choice of leader is still restricted by inner list rules, for example, an Ork army cannot be led by a weirdboy!
A note on vehicle upgrades, Reinforced Armour, Ablative Armour & Supercharged Engines are not compatible. However a vehicle may have ablative & a supercahrger but the supercharger cannot be used until the ablative armour is destroyed!
An eldar vehicle may interchange spirit stones and spectral shields however. (bring back the krak missiles ! )
All rules will be listed here in this first post but follow the thread for discussion and any origins of posts or to notify an issue. All of the rules in this 1st post are OGC approved and are in use and tested (but remain subject to change)
