Can we get one set up like the Guild Wars area? It would be useful for general info as well as tactics discussions, and I'd want it to try and help co-ordinate an online OGC presence now one of it's most obsessive gamers has been unleashed upon the net (with Laharl to follow, he's already talking about fixing and upgrading the laptop).

My best recommendation for fixing a laptop is buying a desktop.
I still play DoW occasionally, done a few games with Mike and a guy I know from Counterstrike. Only thing with DoW is that the multiplayer is glitchy and random people can't play with each other (eg. me and charly). It is annoying, but the more people who play it from OGC, the better. Make an interesting addition to the tournament roster...

(with Laharl to follow, he's already talking about fixing and upgrading the laptop). i'm not going to play DoW though, i've got better things to do and play. My best recommendation for fixing a laptop is buying a desktop. As far as i'm aware, the event of a laptop being damaged does not magically put the funds for a desktop into one's bank account. If we're asking for new boards, how about updating the magic ones, Kamigawa is still there!

I apologise for making the assumption that repairs and upgrades to a laptop would actually cost money...
Now for going back on topic, DoW would be awesome in an all OGC free for all

there is a magic thing called a warranty.
But it wouldn't be a free for all, i'm pretty sure atleast 3 members would go straight for Luke, then it might be a free for all

You get a student loan that has thus far been spent on nothing of relevence. You could quite easily have yourself up and running come September.
And what better things to do with your time?!

I forgot what it was like when your both on the internet at the same time, I'm expecting good (fights) from both of you, don't dissapoint me!
Also I'm crap at DoW online, so even if everybody else played I'd still refrain from joining, being base raped in 5 seconds to me is not a sign I need to 'build quicker', it just makes it not fun

I can't play GW right now. I bought a lemon off Charlie And Mark? Base rape is a sign you need to play free for all.

Yeah, the problem with DoW on-line is that nobody plays FFA. Which really is ridiculous and almost all games are over in under 15 minutes, and in general you can tell the winning the side after 3-4 minutes. At least if you got shafted straight away in FFA you cans till make a big difference, and putting up a fight actually means something, unlike the team games where whoever wins the first battle in the centre has pretty much the game and beings to say "fukkin noobs, this game was the easiest i've ever played" over and over again

For the money, you probably got a decent deal, just that it will need work (as you are experiencing already) to play the newer games in your collection in a stable way.
DoW FFA's are awesome, in one I lost my main force to Khorne berzerkers who proceeded to move towards my base. However, someone launched an attack on the guy's base as well, causing him to pull back and engage most of his troops elsewhere. After getting a dreadnought on the Khorne Berzerkers I was able to repair and rebuild what I had lost and actually go on to dominate the map through a bit of stealth work with scouts picking up several abandoned strategic points. It was awesome. People don't like waiting for a FFA to start up, so they only join them if they are getting near to full. Might be worth arranging something...

Hey, wait a great idea! If we had a DAWN OF WAR SECTION we could have a stickied organise game thread.
