Reading week Terrace Cafe as normal
For the first half hour I will be waiting at the Terrace Cafe before we move on the week immediatly after reading week.
After Christmas the Monday Meeting will be in LINC-VCR.
I'll be keeping the announcement up to date, taking it down after each session and putting up the new one as soon as it's known.
There will often be people wearing OGC T-shirts around, and if not look for people messing around with Magic cards.
Magic: The Give-away
For anyone who wants them, I'll be handing out a package of 6 cards at each of these meetings (one per person, put there's always next time if you want more).
Each will have;
1 colourless card (either an artifact or non-basic land)
1 White card
1 Blue card
1 Black card
1 Red card
1 Green card
Some will be good cards, some will be bad, but most of them are playable even if you could find better examples of them they are great for starting a deck. There is even the odd rare thrown in there (even if odd might be the word)
The cards may be from any set of Magic: the Gathering and we'll try to make sure they're legal for extended play (we can explain this in detail at these meetings, but there are roughly two groups of play and Extended lets you use older cards while Standard is only recent cards from the past two years).
They will give you a starting point and introduce you to new rules within the game.
And best of all, they're free!

I've managed to russle up a fair ton of them, and I've yet to raid Mike's old cards. If you trade with the odds and ends you'll be picking up at these meetings you'll soon have enough cards for a deck.

I have a 2 inch or so pile-o-magic cards for whoever wants to try and build a deck, especially since I am now going to the pit of dispair, or edge hill depending on where your from...

Dear god, Luke has done a number on these lot they are all zombie mad! Try and think of some different tribal decks, all the undead will drive me and mike insane ;D

The Zombie deck is the ultimate deck to teach people with, it's almost impossible to lose with and has some quirky card interactions to show off.
mmm.... Zombies....
gaz, you can keep on using it until you get your own deck.
And as for the undead, there's always tribal Vampires, Wraiths, Nightstalkers...

Also Neil has lent me a deck which ive made out of his spares. So I should be able to play them around a bit. I added a few which I got off luke on wednesday too. It's fun! Although I think it lacks a bit of strong ones

Decks normally start off weak, then get stronger as you add rares, discover combos to build on and you find better versions to tweak the deck with.
All you need is practise! Play against the stronger decks with what you've got (frustrating, VERY frustrating) as much as you play for fun and you'll start finding things that can be improved and work towards it.

I've got a lot of cards i don't want, i'll be happy to give them to people, be warned there is a reason i don't want them. I will not be corrupted the a zombie deck, mainly because i don't have any zombies

I'm not too bad atm, some guy gave me aload today  All i need now is a zombie warcheif and perhaps a few more clerics. I have refinded the deck a bit. I hope they should be a bit better  |

Hiya, thought it was about time that i started posting on these forums.
I'm even more of a n00b than gaz, but i'm getting there and finding magic strangely enjoyable.....
