What constitues a 'cheaper vehicle squadron'?
In the case of things like bikes, they count as infantry anyway dont they?

If it takes a squad to bring in a single tarantula then bring in a tank instead.

My reply was rather tongue in cheek. I think you need to change the rule so its more logical and less prone to exploitation.

the vehicle squad rule is slowly evolving, your criticism is welcome. We intitally had to change it to save Ork Kults of Speed dropping huge amoutns of points for little effort, but like the loop hole bit, we need to spend time bending the lst as much as possible and putting in the clarity wherever it breaks.
As for the slots system, thats merely an additonal restriction over the standard lists, whilst it may be open to abuse, it still gets stuck on the old % restrictions. At the moment, infiltrators dont count towards the 'support slots' but a points cap seems necessary too, a 100 points perhaps, that way its almost level with a marine combat squad.

Hey if I could reduce the exploitation in our group I'd be happy (I don't see that happening...) and I'm glad you guys work away at the issue.

Was laughing so hard at the IG squadron of one Demolisher and 2 leman's that had crushed my flank charge.. when the Demolisher missed, hit the 1st leman, 'demolishing' it. The Demolisher then proceeded to crash into a rock as it hurteled out of control at 20" the resulting explosion killing the remaining leman.. All in all the demolisher gained me 7 VPs in the last turn... thanks IG

Funny!
Won a game against Blood Axe Orks that way once. They had the game in hand with a Leman Russ spitting death and me unable to hurt the behemoth. Then a simple hit and misfire result caused the turret to explode on the beast. Poor Orks payed a heavy price after that.
